It was a joke. :v:
They're actually fairly different anyways. The Wiimote has the button by the d-pad and the trigger on the back on the left as well.

Actually I'm not sure how accurate my criticism of the SNES controller is, I never played on one.
Every controller Nintendo has made has been perfect. Except for the Wii.

Oh. I missed it. It actually does look pretty similar, although I didn't know there was a trigger on the Wiimote.
They should improve the flimsy quality as well. They break way too easily.
Flimsy? The Xbox controllers are quite solid, ive thrown mine across the room and have it still be fine.
The only problem I have with the 360 controllers is the D-PAD, god it's awful.
Otherwise, I love the controllers.
Hope they don't go overboard with the changes.
If the 360 controller had a better battery solution, a better d-pad, and wasn't as easy to get dirty from normal use, I'd say it's about as good as a controller can possibly get.
Do you play with filthy hands? I have had mine for 4 years, and they still look fine except for wear on the joysticks.

The new controller D-Pad is a lot better.

How do you even break a 360 controller? My brother hit me in the face with one of ours once because he couldn't beat DoA4 and my face ended up with more damage than the controller.
They need to improve the area where we place our middle fingers because the current controller forces the middle finger into an awkward position.
I wouldn't mind if the xbox 360 had a little screen on it, nothing too big, not a touch screen but just something that could possibly have some notifications on it or maybe in-game items such as if your team is winning, who's chatting on voice chat, any notifications etc
I would like to see some resistance in the analog sticks sort of a like mouse acceleration but hardware instead of software
The Xbox 360 controllers really hurt my hands and is one of the factors why I became more into Playstation 3 and the wonderful dualshock.
Wait, you seem to be condemning them for suggesting a controller redesign?
Have you... Even SEEN Nintendo?
At least the gamecube controller was great.
It doesn't need improved ergonomics, this isn't the ps3
Everything should use the gamecube controller
Everything should use the gamecube controller
That controller had a weird layout but was really intuitive, although the triggers and some of the buttons could have been better in terms of quality. After a while they make pretty loud noises and you feel the plastic grating. Also it could have been a bit heavier.
The only things they really need to do with the Nextbox controller are fix the D-pad, fix the whole external battery pack thing, and make it bluetooth. Other than that, it's fine.

I really, really liked the placement of buttons on the Gamecube controller, I have no idea why. Had it had a little more weight, I think it would have been perfect.

why in the fuck would you want that
Everything should use the gamecube controller
If you make the stick an actual stick instead of a fucking nub then yeah controller of the year all years
After growing up with the PS2 Dualshock as my favorite analog controller before this past generation, I have to say that aside from the D-pad, the 360 controller was pretty damn good. Right thumb can alternate between the buttons and the right stick with ease, the feel was great, and they had quality to them. The PS3's Dualshocks actually feel pretty alien to me now. :v:
The stick placement is my favorite thing about the Xbox controller, I've always hated the Playstation style.
Good stick placement isn't much of an achievement by itself. They figured out the key to it two generations ago. The only reason Sony didn't adopt it is because a fuckton of people were already familiar with the dualshock design and unlike Nintendo and Sega they didn't undergo massive design changes every generation.
Xbox 360 controller is already well designed, except for the d pad which just 'mushy.'
Why the hell would menu navigation with a controller need to be simplified for non gamers? It's a fucking video game console. The only people using it are gamers. If you're not a gamer, then the Xbox is just a vastly overpriced Netflix device. Even if you are a non gamer, the menu navigation with the controller is really intuitive (sticks for moving round, a for yes, b for no or go back). It's not hard to get.
this with 2 sticks will fix everything

Felt like I was holding a dinner plate or a frisbee whenever I would use it.
Why would anyone even want a controller redesign? The current 360 controller is perfect
As much as I dislike what I've been hearing about the nextbox, this bit of news has got me interested, say what you want about the 360 that controller was comfy as fuck
guys come on, let's all agree that this was the most superior controller design:

Get on my level, bitch
it would be more ergonomic if the d-pad was at left analog stick place
it would be more ergonomic if the d-pad was at left analog stick place
It was for ergonomic reasons they switched those in the first place..
I've never been a big fan of the Xbox controller. The d-pad is really terrible. In addition to that I just cannot get used to the buttons being in XYAB order instead of the SNES's YXBA order and it really impacts me playing about any game on their system. I prefer the Dualshock style controllers myself. The only thing I like better about the Xbox one is the trigger buttons.

Looks basically the same to me.
Using the Wii mote like that is extremely uncomfortable.
