If anything, they will just give everyone free hats in TF2. As it wasn't the shit storm that was the PSN hacking incident, that is all we can hope to recieve from Valve as any form of compensation for this hack.
I think that this is way better than how Sony handled their failure of a network. Nonencrypted passwords...wowrly? I applaud Gabe for being awesome and handling it like a BOSS. Along with actually caring about who is affected by this. Go Gabe!

If there was even a slight chance in hell that we get a free [i]anything[/i] out of this (Yes, I understand that email was fake), I'd like a sneak peak or even a mention of Episode 3 from Gabe. I'm sure we can all get Portal 2 or Dota 2 when we get the chance, what I know that myself and many of you want is at least some info on Episode 3.

Okay, it was free because a friend gifted Dota 2 to me.
DotA 2 will probably end up being free anyways.
I hope DOTA2 is free, otherwise I don't really think I'll buy it, and I don't want there to be a Valve game I don't buy :(
