Arguing with the Team Fortress 2 bitchers is like arguing with ultraconservatives. They'll just stick their fingers in their ears and go "LALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU LALALA YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING LALALA I'M AFRAID OF CHANGE LALALA"
This update is the closest they've kept to the TF2 theme since the Engineer update

A number of elements are Steampunk, but the overall design is close to Fifties and Sixties Sci-Fi.

Steampunk usually has a Victorian era aesthetic, TF2 was always more about the Spytech and slick 60's "modern" design.
