I got to him in 4 clicks, and I went through his friend Stryker who is also over Level 1000. Are they competitors or something?

I figure it'd cost at least $55,000 to get to that level. 5,600,000 xp at ~$1 per 100 xp.
Something interesting I found on /v/.
If you go to your profile and click your friend with the highest level and do that for their friends and keep going. You'll eventually get to PalmDesert in no time. I managed to get to him in 6 clicks.
Found him in a single click
Hell, I'd like to raise my pleb lvl 11 account to something around 20 or 30, but I don't know how to do that.
And this guy is lvl 1000, hory shet.
I did in in six clicks, but I died of laughter because like the fucking four before him were all huge weebs.

I respect that amount of coordination despite it being Alienware and Razer.
I respect that amount of coordination despite it being Alienware and Razer.
i respect the amount it must have cost. i would never spend a penny on alienware or razer, but i wish i could afford to deck out my room like that
and now it's even more fun to play the palmdesert game (going through your friends list to see how long it takes you to get to palmdesert because it almost always works)
I just tried this and it worked lol

He probably gets paid by them to use their stuff.
That is a shitload of green.
i sell all my cards because i don't give a fuck its dumb
[editline]2nd July 2016[/editline]
besides though, cards give me a tiny bit of coin so
I don't even bother selling cards, i just let them sit in my inventory.
Even with all my 8 badges and my seniority badge, its just a garbage system. I don't even get how its calculated...
600XP for a 12 year old account. Whatever, i really don't care that much. What perks does a steam level even provide you besides shameless dick waving?

The only benefits are the additional showcases, a larger friends list, and you show up higher on friend's profiles. Though for most people, 3 to 5 showcases is enough. Especially beyond level 140 for all 14 showcases, it's just dick waving.
Always showing up top on your friend's profiles is a mixed bag. Sure you're more prominent, but that also means you'll be attracting more attention from meandering users, both good and bad.
The system was intended to be one where you'd get cards for playing games, then trade those cards around to make badges and level up your account. Which makes sense, play games and trade with friends and you can improve your account appearance.
But with everything sellable on the market, a certain population just buys up cards in droves to make their level go up. They get diminishing returns, though. Every ten levels requires an additional 1000 xp. Getting from level 990 to 1000 requires 100,000 xp, which would put a brand new account at about level 136.
I'm sure not even Valve was expecting these people to spend so much, IIRC they didn't even have a level 100 badge prepared back when things were starting.

whales are fuckin whacko phenomenons that i will never understand
Five degrees of seperation from PalmDesert here.
How?
People actually care about their steam level?
I use steam to collect and play games not valueless cards badges and icons.

I generally make the badges for newer games I enjoy or w/e. I did make all five levels of the gmod one though because I mean shit this game is the real reason I started playing shit on steam instead of fucking around in UT99.
There's browser addon for chrome that lets you autobuy all cards in a set, and theres also a site where you can log in through your steam acc and it shows you the cheapest ways to get badges, and then doesnt show them when you finish it
First one might be steam enhancements or something but im on mobile atm so its hard for me to find stuff, second should be easy via google. Thats how I got level 40, which got FUCKING RUINED AND MADE 41 BECAUSE A BADGE UPDAGED
[editline]2nd July 2016[/editline]
Oh and it was in like the 30-40 dollar range for me to get level 40 as long as you do the cheapest sets iirc, i might be wrong/outdated tho cuz it was awhile ago
Can I get links?
Can I get links?
The higher your level, the higher your chances of getting card booster packs. I like to sell unused cards for cards I use to increase my level. Then you can use the boosters to make some quick cash to use for sales and dlc and shit.
