Make another Vietnam one [sp]I know Blops wasn't 100% Vietnam but I don't care I'm counting it.[/sp]
I always thought Vietnam would be an excellent setting for the Brothers in Arms series if they ever finish their WWII story. As much as I enjoyed the early CODs, they weren't very good story and/or character-wise.
But the early CoD games weren't about an arching story, they were about the battles you took part in. You weren't the protagonist, you were just another grunt trying to survive the war and the way you switched from one character from another with no connection between them reinforced that idea. My favorite level of all time is the siege of stalingrad in the first CoD which recreates the opening scene of The Enemy at the Gates, you're thrown into the battlefield and given a rifle clip and nothing to defend yourself. That was fucking cool. Then modern warfare came around and your character turned into an unstoppable killing machine slaughtering hundreds of brown people armed with ak47s
A WW2 game with Advance Warfare's artstyle would be fucking stellar.
WWII from Axis perspective Also Africa
How about a Canadian point of view? Like the Italian Theatre?
Wouldn't it technically still be British?
WWII from Axis perspective Also Africa
People always forget that Africa was a stage for WWII. I think Finest Hour had a small portion of Africa play (back on the PS2)
Both Call of Duty 2 and Call of Duty 2: Big Red One had Africa sections.
Medal of Honor: Breakthrough, as shit as it was, was exclusively about North Africa and Italy.
A great vietnam game could work. I remember multiplayer matches in Battlefield: Vietnam. That shit was fucking fun as hell. I could only imagine it in modern graphics. Was so much fun.
What happened? Does nobody remember how boring things were when we got nothing but WW2 shooters all the damn time? Its like the glasses aren't even rose tinted, just totally blacked out.
What happened? Does nobody remember how boring things were when we got nothing but WW2 shooters all the damn time? Back then we had GearBox, Infinity Ward, Treyarch, various EA developers, and other companies making WW2 games. With everything being modern or future warfare having a few games got back to WW2, or other past wars, wouldn't be a bad thing. With the new CoD development cycle we could get something like Modern (Infinity Ward), Future (Sledgehammer), and Past as in Vietnam or World War 2 (Treyarch) based games.

It sort of feels like people are asking for a slower call of duty with less variety, which I wouldn't want to go back to after AW
Press F to end holocaust
A game as Germans where you start out all starry eyed and end up in Germany trying to fight out of the lines to escape the collapsing regime that you've become disenfranchised from. Could even dispel accusations of Nazi's by having you fight the SS as you're trying to escape.
I would love to play as a german when the whole Reich started collapsing, a lot of potential there.
So it's finally come full circle. Fuck WWII, I have had about enough of it in video games. I know that was like 10 years ago but that doesn't change the fact that it was a grossly over-saturated genre at the time. Maybe Vietnam, maybe even WWI, but god dammit there were so many fucking WWII games I'm still tired of them years after they vanished.
I would love to play as a german when the whole Reich started collapsing, a lot of potential there.
And the hopeless fight against the Russians during the winter. Would be a really cool event to portray.
I would love to play as a german when the whole Reich started collapsing, a lot of potential there.
Imagine being a Volkssturm militiaman and you get to use all the improvised and last weapons they had.
westen cod tyvm i'd play it
playing cod 2's campaign is one of the most memorable gaming experiences i have
Maybe a WW2 shooter where you play as the nazis? I want them to win for a change.
How about a Canadian point of view? Like the Italian Theatre?
Call of Duty 3 had a bunch of missions playing as Canadians. 3 got a bad rap, but I didn't mind it, had some good levels and the gameplay was nice.
I don't want them to lose the jetpacks, they are so much fun.
What would we get if each cod game just kept going more and more into the future? The next game could have nanotechnology, then in the next, space battles are commonplace, then android uprising, then a space-dark age, etc until you play as energy beings shit would be insane. Or maybe a Gulf War COD would be cool too.
Kinda want to see a Weird WW2 like the Wolfenstein 2009 or Deadlands. It would at least give us something more than just WaW 2.
I'd be interested in another WW2 game as long as it isn't set in the European or Pacific theatres. Gimme North Africa or South East Asia.
Wasn't CoD2: Big Red One about Africa and Sicily? A return to that would be pretty nice.
The Military FPS is dried up at this point. No matter where you take it, its been pretty much done. Even if you were to play as someone in the Reich or the Soviet Union it wouldn't be that much different in a game like Call of Duty.
I think having a completely original world, a "strangereal" world if you will, would be pretty cool to see. Something like what Ace Combat has, have the weapons and ideas from the real world from all sort of different time lines are mashed together and put into a world that the developers themselves have created, this would also allow you to simply go wild with the more outrageous ideas that wouldn't exactly fit in a real world setting or a particular time period.
The Military FPS is dried up at this point. No matter where you take it, its been pretty much done.
Obviously the next place to take military FPS is Hell- [t]http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20050121200016/doom/images/2/26/Map31_ss_nazi_dudes.png[/t] oh wait
no
Any particular reason why? I'd love to see a good WWI CoD. Especially early/late war stuff would be awesome as it was extremely mobile at that points. Even then, it wasn't just sitting around in Trenches doing nothing during the mid war. You could have sweet stuff like night raids on the enemy's trench, or the Italian Front, or even some Lawrence of Arabia shit in there. WWI has some really awesome set pieces but people are too ingrained in the thought was WWI was just boring sitting around doing nothing. And that makes me sad. More WWI games please, CoD could usher in an era!
