Then he said that Macs are better than PC and I went

The only reason I have a console is for local co-op. That's the only place where PCs aren't as good as consoles.
A PC is better than a console generally, yes, but for things like split-screen?

Are you saying that I can't win world championships double keyboarding?
Are you saying that I can't win world championships double keyboarding?
I'm not saying a PC game can't have local co-op, I'm just saying it has a lot less than a console.
I am soon going to have local co-op on my pc. I will have 3 1920x1080 monitors that 3 people can use.
The person in the middle will use mouse and keyboard and the two on the outsides will probably have the xbox 360 controllers as they are the most supported ones.
The "co-op" that the xbox 360 can give you is only split a bunch of tiny boxes into the 1280x720 resolution.
Major disadvantage for controllers is the shit backpedal which is critical in FPS games
Major disadvantage for controllers is the shit backpedal which is critical in FPS games
shit backpedal and aiming is either extremely slow or extremely inaccurate with rarely any compromise

Every single reason he gave was fucking retarded.
really? Can you show me?
A $300 computer will not be able to play today's games, and as you get closer to $400 and maybe a bit over, you can get something that'll play games decently but keep in mind that that's more expensive than consoles, and you'll likely have a hard time trying to do upgrading
Still only a dual core but it will definitely play todays games fine.

Is that 3995 swedish kroner? Sorry if I got it wrong, but isn't that ~$616 USD?
Also a Chieftec PSU? Really? Also the dual core is really bottlenecking that GPU
yeah it'll play today's games fine but this suffers from what I said above - limited upgradability. If you want to do any serious upgrading then you'd have to replace the PSU/CPU first

So it is, well can't help that your currency sucks :v:
and why is it bottlenecking exactly?
Not to mention that a 550W psu is more than enough for ALOT of computers, and what's wrong with a chieftec psu again? Corsair psu's probably have the same rate of failure as chieftec's do and you're just bandwagoning that.

I had to check it myself.
What the fuck happened to the USD?
Actually, with the current exchange rate it's 617USD.
PC gamers don't have to shell out at LEAST 400 dollars every 3-4 years AND pay for games, I don't understand how people can do that to be honest

I was talking about USD the whole time - and even you were talking in what I assume was USD, so why would you suddenly pull out kronas
It's a bottleneck, and quite a big one at that, because you're putting together an above-average GPU with a low-end CPU
Also Chieftec is pretty terrible to use on gaming computers - they're not made to power high-end components like that 6770. As far as I know Chieftec makes PSUs that compete with OEM PSUs, which aren't good to start with
yeah a way you enjoy them
either way you're wasting your life so the choice is quite arbitrary
Having fun =/= wasting your life.
I guess you're wasting your life if you play sports for enjoyment. It is not a waste of time if you're enjoying it and don't regret it afterwards.

you're pretty much completely wrong
While we're on the subject, I have lately been starting to look at getting a new PC, mainly for playing all the games being released this year.
Anyone here that has something to recommend? Any ideas would be appreciated, really.
Not too expensive, but I'm not on a that tight budget. For example, is the AMD Athlon II, or what it now was called, anything to have?
If it helps I'm planning on buying Skyrim, Deus Ex and Dead Island.
Well would you look at that, thank you.

Go to the hardware & software subforum, seriously. They can fix you the most awesome build for your money.

Yes, a console may be somewhat cheap, but how can you miss, that games on consoles cost about twice as much, as an PC game?
Being extremely proficient with both M/K and Controllers, i don't tend to let one platform "dominate" another, but using a controller on PC for games that demand such is just loads ahead of consoles. Why even bother? They're not cheaper on a price/performance basis anyway. Not to mention the power hog any HD-TV is and how shit the native 720p games (which is EVERY GAME) look at 40+ Inch screens.
I am both a console gamer and a PC gamer, clearly the superior race.
I built my quad core gaming PC for $250, if someone thinks PC's are more expensive than consoles then they're dumb.
