Ctrl+F when I'm looking for something in a school book.
what utter horse shit nobody reached for a search bar or used a gravity gun, they were clearly just fucking with the researchers [editline]21st September 2011[/editline]
When I was small I used to imagined a swiss-army-style little spaceship that could spawn all kinds of weapons, Inspector Gadget style. I would imagine it... like part of a side-scroller. During bus trips when looking out of the window, the little spaceship would fly outside and would have to destroy all objects in its way in a certain way. Stopped doing it when I discovered lasers were OP. It looked kinda like this if you'll excuse the poor sketch:
i used to imagine spiderman skateboarding on obstacles next to my car on long trips only spiderman could perform such wicked moves at 60mph
I was once riding my bike home from school. I wanted to check if there was someone behind me before i turned, so I pressed mouse3. Needless to say, I'd been playing too much GTA:VC at that time. Well, took a few minutes to realize that wasn't the way to look behind you, and I just barely dodged a car. Shit's dangerous, man.
No one said anything about punching trees yet? Anyways, the only thing I can say is kind of similar is when I lower the timescale in GMod, then when I stop playing and get up it sort of feels like I'm moving in slow motion.
Sometimes when someone gets in a fight, and if I try to break it up, I sometimes think of Paragon options from Mass Effect 2.
Yeah I do this sometimes, I space out and think about Halo or whatever game I'm playing at home. Pretty annoying in lessons when I'm trying to listen.
I play Call Of Duty a lot and so do my mates. It's a running joke that we all carry on looking for snipers and going to grab a launcher if you see a bird, or going for the stab button if someone is in your way. I can imagine if you played it even more than I do, it could be a problem. When you play it a lot, the reactions on the game are instinctive in the end, so in real life it must be instinctive.
I maybe joked about this with my friends when I was 10 years old. I don't think this guy got the idea. When I used to play a lot of BF2 I'd find myself instinctively twitching my middle finger as if to hit the page up key whenever I wanted to say "Okay" to somebody. I was 12, it was a problem sometimes when it happened so absent-mindedly. Though I'm making it sound like much more of an issue than it really was.
some guy played gran turismo 5, go like 2nd place in a legit race...
When I'm drunk, I turn into Commander Shepard. I imagine the wheel and do all the awkward shit with the arms. That said. I should be going.
So they basically studied the Tetris Effect, but with other video games? I would of never guessed... You know what would be an interesting study? Make someone play the so called 'Realism' games in games such as RO, DoD, ARMA, and others for 24 hours without any sleep, and then force them to sleep. When they wake up, ask how many of them had dreams regarding war/combat[past lives concept] and document how many of them had night terrors or sleep walked. A study like this could explain why people have stated, "Technology has increased paranormal activity" when in reality it simply might just be someone over focused/over excited on a topic that it's replaying in a dream.
sometimes when I'm typing something, I instinctively press the text-chat button before I type anything
Oh god, when I read this: I was badly addicted to GTA and people would ask me what I did today.. I thought he was going to carry it on and say he committed loyts and loyts of moyders :suicide:
42 people. A sample size that small really?
I do the button reaching stuff sometimes, but most of all a game I play for hours on end, I'll hear random sounds from it irl when I'm out and about. Was weird heahttp://twitter.com/ring a banshee strafe sound from Halo when I was young
I keep hearing someone calling my name in music and stuff, so it isn't exclusive to videogames.
Me and my friend were doing co-op on Halo, he went to the bathroom and i started looking for the little marker over his head that shows me where he is through walls :v:
Grand Theft Auto 4 came out and I got it for my birthday. I was playing it for about 15 days straight. I came home from school and I would just play it constantly. I went outside one day and I had this sudden urge to punch everyone and steal all their money and cars and stuff.
Damn, that bitch is crazy :v:
I've been told that this summer, during a party where I ended up being drunk, I knocked out another drunk guy after saying something close to "I've had enough of your disingenuous assertions." It's pretty much different since I was drunk, but oh well, punch a reporter in the face.

I sometimes imagine the TF2 hud during work if I'm bored. I've also imagined indigo prophecy text choices when I've been in conversations and wasn't sure what to say next. I don't see how people do it without doing it intentionally though, to much gaming I suppose.
When i'm writing shit with pen and paper, I sometimes try to copy+paste shit.
It's true, I played Tetris and started knocking DVDs from my shelf so they wouldn't make a line!
Kudos for using a 'long' word while drunk.
that's why I said "something close to", half of the sentence was probably fucked up.
I got in a minor car accident and thought I should load a previous save. I felt pretty bad about it.
Some video gamers are so immersed in their virtual world they end up trying to use gaming experiences in real life, according to researchers.
Well I can see this going to be used by people yelling "gta made my son commit murder" And I feel the urge to repeat again that lack of proper judgement is a disorder that has nothing to do with video games
Often when I'm drawing and make a mistake, I instinctively reach for CTRL+Z
some guy played gran turismo 5, go like 2nd place in a legit race...
Cause it's a REAL DRIVING SIMULATOR dummy

Honestly you don't 'try' to do these things, you just go through the thought process of doing said thing for a split second, and then afterwards realize that you're not using a computer.
I keep imagining lightning in my hands ever since playing infamous. Eh.
I used to play Borderlands a lot. And I remember I got scared one time because I seen a bird shadow on the ground and I thought it was a rakk.
