3d skybox problem

My 3d skybox is in perfect alignment with the edges of my map, but because its at 1/128 scale, it culls when you get too close to the boundary. I assume this is the same mechanism that affects normal models when the camera gets to close (only 128 times worse). If so, is there any way to disable this culling? possibly either through the prop, the texture, or the sky_camera?
