3d2d that always faces the camera

Hello, since I’ve been experimenting with 3d2d recently I was wondering if it’s possible to do the following: make a sprite that always faces the player, no matter what. They’re often used in the leaves of trees in games like oblivion, or in the pickups in the short clip below:

The closest I’ve gotten so far is just using 2d functions and ToScreen, but of course these appear over the top of every element on the screen. Is there a way to create a sprite thing like the one I described?

Yes you could accomplish that goal with 3d2d, having it copy the local player’s angles and in my testings, setting the yaw to what the players yaw is-90 will make the face of the 3d2d always face the player. (on the yaw angle)
