.3ds file to source engine

Hey guys.
I got a .3ds file and i want to export it to gmod, how would i be able to do that?
Thanks in advanced for all helpers.

The Source Engine does not read .3ds files. The Source Engine only reads .mdl files. For that, you need a .smd exporter and a compiler to make the .smd files into .mdl files. A very important file you will need is called a .qc file. This is what tells the compiler what files and textures to use and where to find them.

Here is a example of a .qc files:

$cd "location of .smd"
$scale "1"
$modelname "model output"
$model "model name" "reference.smd"
$surfaceprop ""
$cdmaterials "path for materials"
$sequence idle "reference.smd" fps 30.00
$collisionmodel "reference.smd"

{
	$mass 30.0
	$inertia 30.00
	$damping 0.01
	$rotdamping 1.50
}
