[3ds max] Cloth Modifier + Wind bake animation for source? (flag anim)

I’m making a flag animation for Source engine but from what I’ve learned, a cloth simulation with wind needs to be baked into keyframes in order for wall worm to compile the animation.

When I use “Create Keys” from the Cloth modifier, it’ll convert the flag into an editable mesh with what seems like the correct animation keys, but converting that into an editable poly will remove those frames.

All the answers online involved either dont use the cloth+wind method or doesnt go beyond the baking of the animation. Sorry if this is a noob question but I’m lost on how to approach this.
