3ds Max SMD Exporter duplicates vertices?

Been using the SMD Exporter for 3DS Max 2010 from here, however, I recently noticed that it’s duplicating every vertex in the model so that way each triangle has three verts instead of sharing them.

Has anybody else noticed this, or know a way to fix this issue?

Are you talking about the normals getting screwed up? Try using the “alternative normals export” mode. Also make sure the mesh is an editable mesh, NOT poly.

It should actually merge vertices sharing the same position if I recall correctly. (which is why you need some space in the mouth for flexes)
