a good laptop for gmod?

i want peoples opinions if i could play gmod on this laptop. i would also like to know if there are any other LAPTOPS that can run gmod that are less than 500 dollars.

before anyone asks, yes i have a desktop, but its not that good, i can play gmod, but the graphics card (nivada 5500fx) is a 10 dollar peice of junk and it has a lot of problems with affects. it aslo has a pentium 4 3.00 ghz, which also lags.

as i said, im looking for laptops, not desktops, unless you can show how i can use a desktop in a car.

i was being sarcastic:rolleyes:

The laptop you posted should work fine, although the processor is a bit slow. I’m not sure how it would run exactly, but the RAM and graphics card should be fine.

Alienware. That is all.

Alienware is good, but not worth it’s price, sorry to say.

That CPU just barely makes the cut for GMod’s listed system requirements. I got a laptop about a year ago for around $600 USD that has a quad-core 2.27 GHz i5 in it, and it sometimes struggles on GMod. You should probably look for something 2.3-2.4+ if you want to enjoy your gameplay (obviously you need to look at GPUs and RAM as well.)

I think his GPU and RAM is alright for Garry’s Mod, but yeah I have a P4 3.4 GHZ and it does pretty good with Source games and stuff like Killing Floor, etc. I really want a new computer though because I want Arma 2 and all that good stuff, but I’ll live.

I hope this isn’t so you can go around steal other’s wifi signals since it IS illegal… but yes, that laptop would be good enough for gmod that you can play it. not get good quality, but it’d be runnable and playable. If you wish to truely know how to use a desktop in a vehicle, just ask. I got hook ups for my chevy blazer so i can play my desktop in the back. <-- awesome nerd

DDOS attacks are illegal aswell, but law enforcement doesn’t even raise a brow to it.

Anyhow to the op, I wouldn’t get a whole new machine for just one game.

T](http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=814321&Sku=B69-0398)hat with a new PSU, and a awesome graphics card of your choice would be nice.

Laptops are not going to be under $500, unless you buy a shitty shitty fag fag celeron laptop.

T](http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6500360&CatId=4948)his laptop was the lowest price and at the same time decent.

i got a asus g51 with a 260mgraphics card, has 2.00 ghz dual core, runs gta 4 on med settings flawlessly. it was 569.99

Definitely look at the Asus G-range.

gaming laptops = :suicide:

I can play Garry’s Mod on my Asus netbook (1.6 GHz single core Athon Neo, 2 GB RAM, Radeon HD 3200) and it works fine at 1024x768 (30-60 FPS). That laptop should do well for the price.

Those HP pavilion entertainment laptops (I had the dv7) run games pretty well, and have a reasonably long battery life

Almost every laptop nowadays can play Gmod. Get something with about 4GB of RAM, an i3 and a 128MB+ graphics card. I’ve got Intel HD graphics, which is 128MB, and it works fine. You don’t need super high specifications for Gmod, so it’s okay to get something cheap.
My laptop is a HP G62, if you’re interested, and I highly recommend it if you want a cheap laptop that’s not big on gaming, but good with media and other software.

I also want to know if this laptop can handle Garry’s Mod?

I don’t see any listings of a graphics card?

That’ll be able to handle Gmod and other Valve games fine. However, it isn’t a modern gaming computer. It uses the same graphics card as mine, which only has 128MB. Most modern games require around 256MB. It’s a good laptop if you’re not going for gaming. If you’re going for gaming, get a desktop. Otherwise, that should do.

just wait 1 or 2 years and high-end gaming laptops will become cheaper
