Yup, it’s a mapper’s worst nightmare, and I’m no different. Here’s a synopsis:
I make the geometry around the trigger_levelchange’s and info_landmark’s for the seperate maps THE EXACT SAME, only getting rid of unnecessary crap in the 2nd map that is out of the player’s (and landmark’s) sight.
Obviously, this doesn’t work. Searching for a reason, I look to the console once I compile the map in-game:
trigger_changelevel to canyoncaves doesn’t have a landmarktrigger_changelevel to zombietown1 doesn’t have a landmark’cfg/motd.txt’ not found; not loaded
‘cfg/motd_text.txt’ not found; not loaded
And upon reaching where the trigger_levelchange brush is, I recieve this:
Can’t find landmark
I tried adjusting the landmarks for both maps to be closer to the player’s vision (in the EXACT SPOT for each), simplify the geometry around the level changes, nothing. I am ABSOLUTELY LIVID right now, considering I’ve spent around a month of working on this project: 2 weeks going in to trying to fix this godforsaken problem. Please, help me out.
