A question about procedural virtual texturing.

For some reason, when I turn on procedural virtual texturing, rust just gives up. Normally I can get around ~40+ fps. With it turned on, I get 4. I’m pretty confused here, I thought it was supposed to help with performance.

Some system specs:
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 7870 w/ 2GB vram
CPU: AMD FX 6300 Six-Core at 3.50 GHz
Ram: 8GB
Hard Drive: 1TB, about 100GB free.

PVT’s had some significant performance problems lately. Stuff’s going to break now and then like that. Keep your eye on the devblogs on playrust.com.

PVT is in a weird place right now. The devs want it to be a way to improve performance, but they’ve been having a hard time making it work. Just ignore it for now and we will see an update eventually either improving it or removing it. By default it is off upon launch so just leave it alone.

EDIT; Saw elix was viewing this thread too and typed in quantum seconds and he still beat me :frown:
