Any advice on how to align custom tf2 models that are not head props?


I have searched around a lot and I haven’t found any clear documentation on how to align custom tf2 items that are not hats…

I created some custom shoes, and even after importing the SMD models into max and aligning them properly, when going into item test they don’t appear in the correct position, they are close, but not enough.

I also would like some advice on how to be able to link the 2 shoes to different bones and use a single file. As of now I’m loading each shoe on each cosmetic slot.

Any pointers in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
