any qc weapon edit example please?

can anyone please give me an exmple of qc and vmt for weapons?

Most of what you put in your QC and VMT depend entirely on the model.

The VMT settings may still depend on what material the weapon is as well as how the diffuse map, normal map, and specularity maps are made. You’ll most likely just use the basic albedo and normal map along with phong shaders. Anything else is completely up to you and your weapon.

As for the QC, are you talking about a view model (the firstperson weapon with animations and hands) or the world model (the thirdperson weapon prop with physics and such)?

  1. v_model, c_model, or w_model? They’re quire different.
  2. Here’s a .vmt of some generic concrete texture. Most .vmt’s will have $basetexture, and sometimes $bumpmap, but again, it depends on what you’re talking about.
