Anyone familiar with the cs:s deagle UV map?

I’m making a skin for the deagle and I’ve got a situation.

I’m trying to figure out what part of the deagle’s UV map corresponds to the highlighted part on the below image

Here is the original UV map for reference

I always solve this problem by generating a colored gradient over the texture and narrowing it down from there. I’ve textured whole models that were missing textures like this.

Can’t you just decompile the model and highlight that bit in a 3D editor?

If you have the software, then I would do what Joe suggests.

Decompile the model, unwrap its UV, select the element you’re interested in. It should display exactly where on the texture map said part is.

If you don’t have the software, then a gradient like pirate suggested would also work.

Yeah I’m out of my element if I were to attempt what Joe mentioned

I did do a rainbow patterned texture and managed to pinpoint what the part basically uses, it seems to be a frankenstein of the UV map, so in order to make it colored the way I want it, I would have to compromise the way the exterior of the gun looks, so I don’t think I’m going to get that piece just how I want it. Oh well.

Thanks for the input though guys.
