Applying Textures to Models?

I’ve figured out how to create a model in Google SketchUp, export it and compile it. This all works fine and shows up in game. The only thing I don’t understand is applying the textures to it.

When I made it in SketchUp I just colored it the required colors. Looking at the .smd file it seems to have created the .tga files which I assume it was ment to use as materials.

What do I do now or did I not compile it correctly?

.tga? Don’t all models use .vmf and .vtf for textures?

Yes they do, I was just pointing this out.

could you download vtf edit from nem’s tools and turn the .tga files into the files needed for the model?
