Automaticly pressing ''E''

Hello,

When i play Garry’s Mod my character automaticly presses ‘‘E’’ (i get out of vehicles and pick things up when i look at it even though i dont want to do this…) this is really annoying and it only does it with garry’s mod…

Any help with this bugg?

Open options, on the keyboard tab press “Use defaults”.

Did that, didnt work… Any more idea’s what it cam be?

Do you have the same problem with other source based games?
It can be your Keyboard.

i dont really have a keyboard, im playing on a laptop…

and i dont think i have it on source based games other then gmod.

Keyboard. A board where keys are on your computer. You have one.
Also, you “think”. Check it, and just make sure. If it actually does that on other source games, then we can narrow it down.

Ive played 3 source games in total, 4 if you include gmod. They wont press E there.
If i change the settings of using someting to something else then E it wont press it automaticly.

Just a shot in the dark, but it may be an addon.

I’ve had this problem with alot of addons, also without addons… its not the addons :frowning:

This may not work but when it’s doing this can you press E?

Hope this helps!

found out it does the same with Nomoreroominhell and in Starbound… IDK how i can fix this with my laptop cuz it wont press E outside games… =/ (sorry for late reaction)

With laptops, if you press the FN ( function ) button, it is possible for the “layout” to change. For instance, numpad uses right side of the keyboard when enabled unless a large laptop is used which has their own dedicated hardware numpad.

It could be related to laptop software if it is happening on other games. Most laptops come with crapware / adware / spyware / callware / trialware / etc… pre-installed. It could be something as simple as a program.

Download and run this: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/26074909/tutoring/___welcome_docs/_welcome_useful_programs_and_notepadpp_upgrades.lua.html

Process Explorer from MS SysInternals. Enable Options > Verify Image Signatures, Options > VirusTotal.com > both Check Image Signatures and Submit Unknown Executables.

If you have a virus, it’ll check everything that is running. You may also want to browse the http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/default site and grab http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902 and http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645.

Autoruns will tell you exactly what programs run on boot and other areas. Process Monitor will tell you exactly what is happening with your PC in real time such as read/writes, registry read/writes, etc… If you’re not too technically inclined, stick with Process Explorer and any file that has more than 2 virustotal hits, google the exe and verify if bad or not. Most of the times when you google an exe, it’ll link you to bleeping computer or other sites which have a stand-alone removal program.

If it isn’t that, then I’d recommend uninstalling all crapware the pc came with.

Sounds like you’ve been hacked good sir. Get some good soap and try cleaning your computer with clear water.
