Caterham (With DL Link!)

Well if all those misplaced Help and Support threads can have space here, why not a properly working test vehicle.

So over the past few days, also while making my Series 2 A vehicle, I was testing the lua wheels. And to be honest, I love them.
So I thought I should test them on a good, fast car that never actually worked properly due to all the bouncyness on the wheels. Well, that bouncyness is no more due to these lovely wheels!
The body of this Caterham was actually pretty old (1-2 months). It looked horrible so a shineup and these new wheels made it… well, pretty awesome.

I made a quick video on the actual car so you know what I’m talking about.

(Sorry for the cheesy video, heh)

You’ll need the following addons for this to work:
Satri Ali’s Lua wheels
Weight Stool
The latest SVN of Wiremod (and advanced duplicator which follows with Wiremod)
Wenli’s Tools (May not be needed)
Put the lua wheels into your “wire” folder. It’s located in “addons”

Stuff to work on:
Add more details to front.
Make less oversteering.

The car is also up for download. I’ll be updating it over the next couple of days as it is a little buggy at the moment. Mostly due to a bunch of oversterring.

And a quick thing, DO NOT REUPLOAD THIS TO GARRYSMOD.ORG. Going to emphasis this as it’s seriously pathetic if you do.

Now with more pictures!:

Here’s a quick instruction guide on how to install it.

  1. Download the addons required for this duplication. They are all above.
  2. Install Wenli’s Tools and Weight STool into “addons”. It’s located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps*USERNAME*\garrysmod\garrysmod\addons
Satri Ali’s Lua Wheels goes into “C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps*USERNAME*\garrysmod\garrysmod\addons\wire”
  3. Download my duplication.
  4. Copy “caterhamfin4” from the folder you downloaded and paste it into “C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps*USERNAME*\garrysmod\garrysmod\data\adv_duplicator”
  5. Go into Garry’s Mod and open the spawnmenu. Then open up advanced duplicator. Tick this little option on.

If you don’t turn it on, the vehicle will not spawn properly

Rollin’ like a high class minge now

Lua wheels are a big lifesaver. Don’t build cars terribly often, but they are heavenly on them. [editline]6th August 2011[/editline]Also, you don’t need wenli’s tools to make the car work after duping, but anyone who wants to build anything above shit should get it. Also, your cars seem a tad off every time, but I can’t place my finger on it.

I believe I know what it is, tbh. As said in the last thread, I have this odd tendency to make the body of the car too low. Which is basically what happened here. And before this and the Series 2 A car, I hadn’t really made anything for around 3-4 weeks. But yeah, this was only really a test with the wheels. Hence why I also gave it up for download.

Pardon my Photoshop work, but to better illustrate what I meant:

See, this is why I love you White. I’ve just had too many problems with the size of the body. I’ll try to work on it in the future, but as this body was actually a little old compared to my other body’s, this one seems like a dead end for other than smalll performance improvements.
