Chinese text

So I need some help guys… I managed to download these player models from modchina thanks to a dude on steam, but when I open the models in HLMV, it is purple and black… it was evident, chinese characters had something to do with it, so I decide to change the texture path instead of Chinese to normal text, and rename all textures and .vmt names to english, and when I recompile, it says the model couldn’t be loaded, Dafuq.

Anybody know how to fix models with Chinese filenames on Source?

Well… You can change texture names to eveything, but you would’ve to apply them to model in your 3D modelling software.

open the reference smd (hitfeel.smd in this case) with notepad++ and replace the Chinese materials in there also.

Or you could just not decompile anything and just change all the texture paths and names right in the .mdl file.

You can also open the model in MDLHexer and change the material names.
