Converting skin for other slots

Just wanted to ask how to compile a skin so it replaces another weapon?
Ex from G3SG1 to SG550
Also tell me the tools needed and screenshots if possible

Since you said compile I’m gonna explain what to change in the QC.
Find the line
$modelname “weapons\v_snip_g3sg1.mdl”
and change it so the last part matches the name of the model you want it to replace so it would be
$modelname “weapons\v_snip_sg550.mdl”
It probably wouldn’t work out to well since I believe the animations are timed differently

BTW,what’s the best compiling program?
