Corrupt Background?

About two hours ago I decided that I feel like playing GMOD. I decide to start up the game and was met by this error. The last time I played GMOD the background was purple and black checkers before I quit, but I didn’t think much of it.

(And yes, I already reinstalled the game and defragmented its files)

Help please?

remove the gmod folder and then reinstall?

Thanks, all I needed to do was remove the folder and start up the game
