Couldn't read Loadportals

So, when I compile my map, the additions i made to it wouldn’t show up, which means the compile failed. I think I found the problem because this showed up in the compile text file:

LoadPortals: couldn’t read c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\paulisdead\sourcesdk_content\garrys mod\mapsrc\me_test.prt

I’ve looked around to try and find a way to fix this, but im getting solutions that dont apply to my map and just plain don’t work. Anyone know how to fix this? (Also, I’ve tried searching this forum, and I haven’t found a solution on here either.)
