(cs:go) de_heat

Hi everyone!

This is my new map de_heat (made for both cs:go and cs:s), this is my first level in a good while! There has been a lot of effort, love and playtesting(!) put into this level, hope you like it!

CS:GO version: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=194997295&searchtext=
…this version can also be played in Deathmatch mode
…I’ve spend a good amount of time tweaking the nav-mesh for this version

CS:S version: http://css.gamebanana.com/maps/177067
…HDR version looks good
…SDR version is a little bit off (sorry)

Level lore:
Background: In a bombed out middle eastern environment the L337 Krew are trying to take back control over the city
L337 Krew Objective: Destroy one (of the two) military checkpoints
SAS Orders: Prevent the L337 Krew from destroying either of the two bomb targets

Simple walkthrough video by myself vs medium bots (showcasing the different routs as T and CT) + some sniper/hiding/grenade walling areas

Here are some images from the CS:GO version (CS:GO and CS:S version differs slightly), additional images can be found at the Steam workshop!

note, the area names has changed slightly

my original layout sketch:

Originally this map was made exclusive for the UA-clan.com-server (cs:s) where I play 99% of the time, then the uac-version turned out kinda good and some people asked for a cs:go version, I’m happy that a 1:1 conversion from cs:s to cs:go went so easy…a few minor modifications has been done,

I’m also working on modified versions of this map for Arms Race and Demolition, all modes features deathmatch, if you want to try the Alpha versions you can add me as a friend on Steam

Thanks for checking out my map, if you have any feedback or find any bugs plz let me know! Hope you enjoy it!

Reminds me of Battefield 3

Good work as well

it’s smooth as baby cheeks

Thanks!
I’ve worked at Dice, and I know many people there, …you are the first person who says that! some of the guys I’m working with now has been in the MW-series for a while, they said “this looks like MW!”

Thanks Eddie!

This is really valve quality, but is it balanced for competitive play?

This is the win ratio from UA-clan CS:S server, where we have played the map a few months now, I know it doesn’t count as competitive play but as far from I’ve seen the map is well balanced…
Time: 1d 05:50h
Win Ratio: Counter-Terrorist 47.87% | Terrorist 52.13%

I’ve updated the map, and I’ve also made tow other map based on the original Heat - a demolition and a arms race map, been trying them with bots and they feel rather nice,

Get Heat Ruins (Arms Race/Deathmatch): http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=201142471

Get Long Heat (Demolition/Deathmatch): http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=201142144

also added a few new pictures:

Not gonna lie, that almost looked like a real life picture.

:o that’s awesome! What made you start using Source?

I feel like every csgo map release here is always quality…

And all of them are first posts too :v:

Been doing leveldesign for source for a while, http://planethalflife.gamespy.com/View.php?view=LOTW.Detail&id=89 this is a old review of one of my levels from back in the days, played some garry’s mod a looong time ago, and recently saw it around the office

You drew out that layout like a boss sir.

+1 mapper king for you

heheh thanks!

What a great looking map you have created.

Nice to see you plan it out first before designing it as well.
