Hi folks, just released a new level on ze workshop (previously posted some wip screens here in another thread)
Anyways here we go:

Swedish radar station,

Hotbilden mot svenska intressen är hög när larm kommer att en signalspanings anläggning är under belägring!
Svenska kartor till svenska spelare!

Been wanting to do a bunker level for a while, this is it; On a rainy misty night the local Radar Station is under siege!
Tweaked for 5v5 but has 24+ spawns

Custom conten by myself, feel free to use it (as long you cred me)

Known issues: a few warnings in console when loading the level - nothing to worry about

good job! I love what I’m seeing makes me want to jump into UDK and throw something together. But sadly I have to go into work here shortly -.-

this was the first time in ages I tried to make some textures, think they turned out ok, specular is kinda hard to make look good in source (for some reason)

Map looks great!

The only thing I’d work on is the lighting. Many of the lights don’t look natural, like the tube lights casting light on the ceiling above them, when realistically they should only cast downwards in an 85 degree sweep. Some of the spotlights also look weird.

You may also want to strategically increase the lightmap scale on faces that have shadows to make them less blurry and more defined.

thanks! tried to work a lot on the light this time, and I was pretty happy with the outcome,
but what you are saying is true, I added a (very weak) light under the florescent lights to light up ceiling a little,
I was afraid that the map was going to end up to dark, also added reflectivity to most surfaces - since pretty much all surfaces are suppose to be wet from moist, water and rain the would reflect some lights…

I totally forgot about the lightmaps :frowning:
Regarding the spot lights, what do you think I need to change? I was quite happy how they ended up

Will try and collect all the feedback during upcoming weeks and just do one major update, will def keep all these things in mind and post some pre-release shots to show you :slight_smile:
