Hey guys, i’m a (pretty) experienced mapper, but I am still wondering, what are these env_cubemaps everyone is talking about, I dont see how they effect the map, or details from it. What does it do?
env_cubemap creates a 3d snapshot of the map from its entity, this is used on reflections to give the illusion that materials are reflecting light.
Try to put some props with high reflection and run hdr. U will see why ppl talking about cubemaps ^^
