Custom model animation only plays once its rendered in game.

a common door model in the map has animations for opening and closing but they only play once you can see it or when vvis shows it. im sure people have run into this problem before so is there any kind of fix / workaround?

most doors in hl2 just use prop_door_rotating. If it’s a model with an animation, it needs to have logic to make it play the open animation, then play the close animation. The models freeze on the last frame of the animation after completion unless they have a default animation.

if a door plays an animation then only people who can see that door will see the animation. but if you move and then see the door it will then play the animation instead of when its activated.
