How would you convert a DAE model file into something usable in source? any help would be much appreciated!
3ds max or milkshape 3d
-import your .DAE model and then export to .smd
.dae is COLLADA anything can open it
import it into your favorite 3d modeling software, export it as an smd and go
ok, what do i do after turning it into an SMD?
i exported the models outta blender, but i have no QC… did i do something wrong?
You gotta make the .qc yourself, Blender doesn’t make em’ for you. Check out some examples, or do a google search on how to make a .qc.
could someone make a QC for me? i have no idea what to put on it because it exported it all as separate SMDs.
here they are: http://www.mediafire.com/?mcgo7nk5zd32k
The beginning has a quick example Qc for a prop.
nvm, i figured it out… but my model is multiple SMDs… what do i do then?
just put in either multiple model segments or set the rest up as bodygroups
hey, i’m using GUIStudioMDL 2.2, but my model wont compile. heres the error i’m getting: c:\program files\steam\steamapps******\sourcesdk_content\hl2\modelsrc\pyrogx\PyroGX.qc(3): - could not load file ‘C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps*****\sourcesdk_content\hl2\modelsrc\PyroGX/detail0.smd, detail1.smd,detail2.smd’
