Decompiling Left 4 Dead 2 .vta Files

i’m working on adding jiggle bones to the l4d2 survivors on areas like rochelle’s earrings and nick’s coat but i haven’t been able to decompile any of the vertex animations from the original files, so my new models lack any facial animation or eye movement. the only thing i plan on editing is the skeleton and weight mapping, can anyone let me know how to get a hold of the vta files? i’ve been using cannonfodder’s mdl decompiler to get the smd files.

Currently impossible unless someone makes a decompiler that is able to do it.

I don’t believe a 2009+ engine decompiler is possible as Valve has not released the source code

It should be. The Alien Swarm SDK contains the format for v49 .mdl files.
