Displacement lighting bug

Hello there.

I’ve made this map as a lighting test, but for some reason the displacements have this weird lighting bug on them.

This is the second time I’m getting this bug, and I have no idea what causes it nor how to fix it. Help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I’m not sure if this will fix it, but it’s worth a try.
Select all of the surfaces in the Face Edit Sheet tool, then click on Smoothing Groups and choose a number.

you need to select only the top parts of the brushes when making the displacements.

It looks like he has done that, to me it seems like a lighting problem, not geometry.
Take a look at the edges/border of the displacements, they’re straight and aligned. The weird shadow makes it seem as if each square is beveled.

Thanks for that, that fixed it.

If you don’t only select the top face, it does that.

Something I didn’t know, thanks.

it also happens if you compile in fast lighting mode

Wow, new way to make tile textures.
Compile with vrad full.
