FastDL - Setting Up -- Getting it to work >:(

Hi guys… So I have owned a TTT server for a while and have been having the problem of users downloading all the resources all over again when the re-join the server?

I have the server.cfg setup correctly, I have followed multiple guides to try and get the FastDL working, but it still seems as that it redownloads most of the files for me.

The host doesnt offer manual upload of the files, but rather a very stupid sync.

An example of my situation is that, I have a HUD addon, and there are all those little resources like the icons to texture it etc. When people join for the first time, it supposedly downloads it, but when they join the server again it still re-downloads them :suicide:

I have looked in the HUD Addons folder, there is a config/fastdl file that has the "resource.AddFile(“icon.png”) etc.

Would anyone be able to help me with this?

  1. Post your actual FastDL link.
  2. Set sv_allowupload and download to 0.
  3. Post your full FastDL lua file in

 tags.

I am setting the allowupload and allowdownload to 0

but… I want players to be able to see sprays though :confused:

Those files don’t exist on your fastdl, eg http://s9.wombatserve.rs/fastdl/KeremK/1987/materials/csgo_hud/alert.png

Since you use a syncing service I don’t know exactly what you need to do to get it working, if it was FTP it’d be dead simple.

FastDL doesn’t use addon folder. Move everything out of addons into the root folder. (It will try to download from the link I pasted, not the one you pasted)

To clarify, you should only move the content from the addons folder into the root on FastDL, not the actual game. Same goes for gamemode content.
