Figuiring out when does the trace appear when used strider_show_cannonlos appears

When you use a console command (strider_show_cannonlos) a visible trace appears from npc_strider when its about to fire its warp cannon, is there any way how i could use that? I desperately need to know when it finishes/starts/is scanning where to fire with its cannon. So is there any way at all i could use that somehow, or is it just for debugging purposes?

Also. On the same note: Do striders have some kind of a sign like a condition, or an animation playing when they use their warp cannon that is in any way noticeable by lua?

Even if there isn’t a way let me know that i wouldn’t spend countless hours trying to figure it out.
