Game Crashes on "Sending Client Info" and "initializing Game data" HELP

When i join a multiplayer server, my game crashes on “Sending Cleint Info”. And if i try single player, it crashes on “initializing game data”, the last loading step.

i have a Mac OSX computer. not that old, only a few months old

Macs have recently had a lot of reported problems lately, try dual booting and see if you get a similar problem.
