Game crashes when my SNPC tries to find a HL2 NPC

Alright, I’m gonna go ahead and make this short…
My tripod SNPC uses it’s laser beam against the player, and Vrej’s SNPCs just fine… but for some goddamn reason, whenever I spawn a HL2 NPC in the tripod’s presence, the game crashes with NO error…


if v:GetClass() == "npc_*"

I use that to get NPCs… I’ve also tried “IsNPC()” but no fucking success, I’m just utterly stressed because I’m so close to getting this one done…
