Garrys Mod Loading HTML Loading Screen (Image With Music)

I am making a HTML server loading screen for a Garrys Mod server

I want an image with music playing using HTML and i will host the html using public dropbox

The HTML link: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/179449381/html%20source/html.html
The song i am using for the HTML is:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/179449381/html%20source/Song%20Of%20Storms%20Dubstep.mp3

The image i am using for the HTML is:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/179449381/html%20source/Storm-Clouds-54.jpg

the HTML i have come up with plays on the website perfectly but not on gmod

The HTML code is

<html>
<body>

<img src="https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/179449381/html%20source/Storm-Clouds-54.jpg" width="100%" height="100%">
<EMBED src="https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/179449381/html%20source/Song%20Of%20Storms%20Dubstep.mp3" autostart="true" loop="true" hidden="true">
<NOEMBED>
<BGSOUND src="https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/179449381/Athmospheric%20Dubstep.mp3">
</NOEMBED>

is there anything im missing? or can i use someone elses template/HTML code?

I have no idea why its not working and i would appreciate the help
You will get credit in the loading screen if you really need

Thanks If You Are Able To Help

If you go to GLoading.com they’ll give you one (1) free loading page or something

I mean, pretty much it just seems like you want a picture and music, which GLoading can do as far as I’m aware

If you want music, make sure that it is something that at least a lot of people will like. Not everybody appreciates joining a server and having their senses raped by blaring dubstep while FastDL/Workshop does its job.

editing the index.html looks extremely complicated and seems too much where all i need is am image with music

FastDL/workshop does what job?

Hi mate, I’ve found that the web browser which gmod uses for the loading screens doesn’t really like MP3 files.

Instead I discovered that it’ll happily play .OGG files, so basically you just need to convert the song to the ogg vorbis format and use that instead.

Here’s a handy website which will convert the song for you online: http://audio.online-convert.com/convert-to-ogg

…TIL about <bgsound>.

Why don’t you instead use <audio>, as the documentation itself tells you to?

As it’s a loading screen and, therefore, only used by webkit, you might as well remove all the EMBED and NOEMBED things.
It would look like

<audio autoplay='1' src='https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/179449381/html source/Song Of Storms Dubstep.mp3' volume='0.6'>
Well snap... So it didn't really accept audio. Mystery.</audio>

IF THIS WORKS ILL BE ETERNALLY GREATFUL

if this works better then i will use this. thanks

im guessing the lower the “volume=” the lower the volume?

THANKS SO MUCH

PS: ITS WORKING NOW

Here’s a refreshed version without using an image for the server details.

If it is hosted locally, you’ll need to install this http://www.php.net/manual/en/book.bc.php (assuming that your server provider if you have one has it installed)

You’ll need

?mapname=%m&user=$s

behind the loadingurl.
Example:

sv_loadingurl = "http://1234.net/index.html?mapname=%m&user=$s"

I got bored halfway through and didn’t style it. You’ll have to do that yourself mate.
