[ Garrys Mod ] Strange lightmap issue

I’m just curious if any of you have seen this before.
( This happens running vrad on normal and fast )

You can see here that there are very UN-necessary and very unattractive black squares on this house.

However, if I give it an artificial light source…

I have a theory that it has something to do with absurd angles, but I don’t see why that would be an issue.

Any thoughts?

Did you rotate that house? Or is that just weird anglework?

I’d say it has a strange rotation.

Also, this is a decompiled version of the map, though I’ve gotten this same issue on maps I’ve made from scratch.

Dont build off grid :v: otherwise stuff like this will happen

Plus, it could’ve been one of VMEX’s fuckups.

I use BSPSource.

EDIT: If I rotate it, the problem moves to another part of the house.

They both create issues with the vmf. Don’t rotate the house, clip it.

You could also use propper to make the house into a prop and rotate the prop. The lighting would be worse but itd suit your purposes.

It appears this problem may be hardware related, a friend of mine compiled the map and the issue was not able to be replicated.
