Glitchy Depth Buffer on 2D Geometry

I’ve come across the SMDs of a few models I’m using. They were originally compiled with a scale of 2, but for my purposes, this is about twice as big as I need them. So I set scale to 1, and let it rip. In GUIStudioMDL, a few errors popped up:

WARNING: Model has 2-dimensional geometry (less than 0.500 inches thick on any axis)!!!
WARNING: Model has 2-dimensional geometry (less than 0.500 inches thick on any axis)!!!
WARNING: Error with convex elements of gen_wood_tree.smd, building single convex!!!!

And in game, the models do this:

Any ideas?

trycompiling with $opaque or $mostlyopaque

Neither made any difference.

Try changing $translucent 1 in your VMT to $alphatest 1.

Perfect. Thanks a ton.
