C# only, unless devs decide to add another layer (extremely unlikely)

No Lua or variants please.

If it’s going to be C# only, does that mean that code would run much faster than GLua did?

Yes that’s the idea.

LuaJIT isn’t all that slow, it’s actually pretty close to .NET Core (say closer than python to C++).

It’s more about C# being a much more evolved general purpose multi-paradigm feature-rich programming language including OOP which enables developers to create, control and integrate larger and more complex projects more easily and with less architectural problems, bugs and reinventing the wheel all the time.

It is also compiled and can be distributed in form of binary which also has its benefits as opposed to plain Lua implementation in gmod.

It’s only compiled if using .net core with native compilation which you will not be allowed to do in s&box because his protections against running bad code require the shared library that’s produced to be in plaintext.
