Hey guys, I was wondering if it was possible to open Garry’sMod 3D files in 3DsMax. I was going to try it with a model addon that’s a guy in a Tuxedo. When I open the addon folder, it’s in a few different file formats, including: VTX, PHY, MDL, and WD. I was curious if Max could open any of these file types. I’m thinking PHY files can be opened into Max. If anyone knows for sure, please let me know! Thanks!
You need to decompile a model before you can open it in Max.
The decompiler’s there, and you’ll also need the SMD importer and exporter for Max, found here.
