I was just wondering what type of .WAV file you need to use in a Lua document?
What do you mean? Any .wav should work (I think). Just use surface.PlaySound to play it.
My friend thats big in coding said it needed to have a specific Bit-rate and frequency or something
Not that I know of. I’ve never had a wav fail on me. I think he means for use by HLSS or some other program. Lua should play wavs regardless of bitrate/freq.
Lua itself doesn’t play wav files. It’s the source engine that does. And yeah for most uses any regular wav file should do.
Certain encodings do not work.
The Valve Developer Wiki specifies a specific bitrate to use, I believe. The VDC will most likely have all your answers.
