check your configeration it appears your dont have it vrad set up properly.
could not find lights.rad in lights.rad

Description:
Vrad.exe couldn’t find lights.rad, a file used to determine which textures can emit light by themselves.

Solution:
Move to/make a new lights.rad in the right directory. You should search for the file in your mod’s directory, most mods have one.

fffffffffffff this is the worst part of hammer

Lights.rad really isn’t that big of a deal when you are compiling your map tbh.

Try changing your save location and read location to a folder on your desktop.

gmod crashed after I tried that

mainly because i’m still confused about this whole orange box engine thing as it can’t be selected in the sdk tools anymore

You have to set the Game executable directory to
$SteamUserDir\garrysmod\

And go to build programs tab Set the Game executable to
$SteamUserDir\garrysmod\hl2.exe

Though I’ve heard launching gmod through hammer fucks up some things, like you crash when you hit the ground.

I got this error before, what I did is finish my map…and compile it in hl2. Of course your gona see errors on the map file…but not when you ingame in gmod.

Don’t know. It worked for me when I did it back when I used it.
Try launching gmod through steam.
