A new version of gms_tides map!
I made it because original gms_tides is a bit buggy and ugly.
Bugs fixed:
Trees and rocks you cannot chop/mine.
better ground (4 displacements instead of 1)
Maybe I removed something, but it isn’t important.
Also I changed water texture to gm_construct water, and added more trees.

The last picture looks nice.
The two first are horrible.

Please work on displacements a bit more.

Seems nice. Although not professional looking, it’s pretty much a proof-of-concept. I like the idea. Keep working on this, make it pwetty*, and maybe, MAYBE, you will make me interested in Stranded.
I’m not a mapper, but I have some advice:
Never use horizontal surfaces when dealing with moving water. I can’t see whether this occurs in here, but I’m saying this from own experiences.
Flat surfaces+moving water= HOLY SHIT MAP IS BUGED!
It looks fucked up, that’s what I’m trying to say.

(*Definition; pwetty: 3D skybox, smooth hills, maybe some HDR, you know the drill.)

I suggest better water, maybe even custom water if you’re using func_water_anolog. It removes all the special effects of normal water textures and makes it look really ugly.

Better water textures would be good.

That’s some ugly shit right there.

It seems older maps that were horrible were liked by the current players of the time. Most maps that are older aren’t up to todays custom-created standards.

Ok map, though. Just change the water texture.
