I’m making a map with water in it; pretty standard, right? So, the minute I see no water, and just the skybox, I assume there’s a leak. After finding zero leaks, I move to the compile log. The compile log pops up with the following interesting lines:
LoadPortals: couldn't read c:\program files\steam\steamapps\********\garrysmod\garrysmod\maps\vmfs\********.prt
(Under the VVIS section)
No vis information, direct lighting only.
(Under the VRAD section)
As far as I understand, VVIS is crucial to rendering water, and VRAD for radiosity. So, I went into my VMF folder, and found that there isn’t even a .prt file in the first place for VVIS. When I tried getting Hammer to compile again, hoping that the .prt would show up, it did the same thing.
