Help with lighting on CS:S map.

Okay, I made a nice new CS:S map, but I am tired of having to send my maps to my friend to get lights in there. I am not good with lights. I put down a light environment outside and point it 90 degrees,(down.) and the map was still dark. I placed 2 of them then. Still pretty dark. You can see, but dark. How do I make my outsides look nice!?

EXTRA: What is HDR and how do I put it into my future maps?

Make it -90.

Make the brightness 600 or more.

Thank you this helped, now does anyone know anything better? Or what and how to use HDR?
