Hello I’ve Owned Garry’s Mod For 2-3 Years Now And Never Had This Problem Untill Now
I Keep Getting A hl2.exe has stopped working pop-up everytime i try to launch Gmod And I Cannot Figure It Out
I’ve Tryed Running Portal 1 Then Gmod Didn’t Work
Verified The Games Files Multiple Time Didn’t Work
I Just Can’t Figure It Out Could i Get Assistance Please Thanks

Have you tried the autoconfig launch option?
The -autoconfig launch option will allow Steam to configure a Valve/Source game with the best settings for use on your machine.

  1. Open Steam
  2. Go to the “Library”
  3. Right-click Garry’s Mod
  4. Select “Properties” from the menu
  5. Click the “Set launch options…” button
  6. Remove any launch options currently shown.
  7. Type -autoconfig in the box.

If that doesn’t work you can try safe mode
The -safe launch option will cause the game to launch with minimal video settings, in windowed mode and with a 640 x 480 resolution.

I Just Tried Both Of Them But Still It Gave Me The hl2.exe Stopped Working Pop-up

I wouldn’t know what else to say since your error isn’t very descriptive.

Maybe you have too many add-ons installed.

I’d say unsub from all your add-ons and then go into the “addons” folder inside garry’s mod/garrysmod/ and delete whatever is inside it.

Then run Garry’s Mod and if that doesn’t work then re-install it.
