How do I port one models animations over to another model?

Ok, so I want to replace Alyx from Half Life 2, with a reskinned metropolice model. But the catch is that the metrocop does not have the necessary animations to do what Alyx does (Pressing buttons, jumping over the fence etc.)

I presume that the skeleton that Alyx uses aren’t so different from the metrocop’s one. Is it possible to do this kind of thing?

include the alyx animations with it via $include all animationmdls in the QC for the metrocop.

Of course that will look somewhat akward. Just get ready for some metro hip swaying.

Damn, now, I am not very skilled when it comes to this kind of thing. Could someone assist me a little, I think I have all of the necessary programs.

First de-compile the CP then in the QC file you will see something like this



$includemodel "Police_animations.mdl"
$includemodel "Police_ss.mdl"
$includemodel "humans/male_shared.mdl"

Just add this to it :slight_smile:



$includemodel "humans/female_shared.mdl"
$includemodel "humans/female_ss.mdl"
$includemodel "humans/female_gestures.mdl"
$includemodel "humans/female_postures.mdl"

for normal female
