I want to check the selected language on the users gmod installation, so I can play sound files for the users preferred language. However, there doesn’t seem to be a good way to do this. I assumed there would be a simple function that returned, say a string for whatever language the user had chosen, but some google searching didn’t seem to bring it up. There are several functions devoted to adding language specific items, but not for checking what language is actually chosen, which makes playing translated sound clips rather difficult. How would I detect the current language setting in lua?
I believe the ConVar is gmod_language
