How to fake a world model for a melee weapon

I’m making a melee weapon that uses custom modeled fists to hit things, and instead of having to make a world model I’d like to just use “weapon_fists”'s world model and animations.

I’ve been hunting through “weapon_fists”'s lua file and I don’t see anything about world models. How can I use its world model and world model animations for my SWEP?

Just put SWEP.WorldModel = “”.

From the source of the weapon_fists it seems to just have a blank world model, have you tried doing that and see what happens?

It has it’s world model set as
[lua]SWEP.WorldModel = “”[/lua]
and for animating in the PrimaryAttack it calls
[lua]self.Owner:SetAnimation( PLAYER_ATTACK1 )[/lua]
